the Chateau de la CONDESA a 15th century building that presides over the village in the Garraf region. It has been declared an Asset of Cultural and National Interest. This construction of 954m2, is located on a plot of more than 14.000m2.
The castle is located on a hill, being adjacent to the church of Santa Magdalena. The estate has a three-storey main body, enveloping the original tower, which rises one storey higher, and with a courtyard next to the first floor level with annexed constructions.
It is a documented construction from 1478, but it is based on an older defence tower linked to the castle of Olérdola. A circular tower with small loopholes at the top and a fragment of wall with battlements in some sections have been preserved from the existing construction in 1478. It is said that King John II of Aragon stayed in the castle one night in December 1478.
The rest of the building belongs to a modern restoration carried out in 1858 by Ramón de Bouffard.
The castle has historically been owned by different noble families from the Terré family in the 15th century, like Bouffard family at the beginning of the 19th century. It was finally acquired in 1982 by the current owners, who undertook major renovations to adapt it as a family residence.
After going out hunting, he caught cold and was able to rest in the castle.
This estate has different permitted uses for its exploitation, as well as the use of the castle as a hunting lodge.
